Since 2005, Men Having Babies (MHB) has hosted monthly workshops and the annual NY Men Having Babies seminar provided hundreds of gay men a comprehensive overview of surrogacy by panels of experts and peers. June 9-10th, Men Having Babies hosted their first ever South Florida workshop where issues of gay parenting were discussed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I was really honored to have been a featured speaker at the legal question and answer panel where I spoke about issues relating to same sex parenting and the legal issues that arise under Florida law for gay parents who want to pursue surrogacy and egg donation. I have pledged my surrogacy and egg donation legal services to MHB's Gay Parenting Assistance Program (GPAP) which offers various levels of financial support to gay men building a family through surrogacy. Men who qualify under Stage 1 are offered discounted services and men who qualify for Stage 2 are offered free services or grant money to pay for services. My work with MHB and the clients who contact me through the organization is a great joy for me to assist with my Florida surrogacy and egg donation expertise. I have worked with the organization for many years and highlighted MHB with the resources they provide in my book that was co-authored by the American Bar Association titled, ABA Guide to Assisted Reproduction.
