About Marla Neufeld

Marla Neufeld, Esq., a partner of Greenspoon Marder LLP, founded their Surrogacy and Assisted Reproductive Technology practice group and represents parties working with a gestational surrogate, egg, sperm or embryo donor. Ms. Neufeld experienced her own infertility journey and ultimately worked with a gestational surrogate to build her own family; she has twins via surrogacy.

Highlighted Authored Publications

She co-authored a book published by the American Bar Association titled, The ABA Guide to Assisted Reproduction: Techniques, Legal Issues and Pathways to Success. Additionally, she was the winner of the Law360, Distinguished Legal Writing Awards, Burton Awards - for her article she co-authored titled, The A, B, Cs (along with CDCs and FDAs) of Regulatory Implications over Assisted Reproductive Technology, published in the ABA Health Law Journal, December 2019. 

Highlighted National News Appearances

Ms. Neufeld has appeared on national news outlets discussing surrogacy law. She was featured on the Emmy award-winning CBS daytime talk show, The Doctors, speaking about legal tips for people choosing third party reproduction and the importance of understanding the roadmap and legal consequences of a third-party reproduction process. Ms. Neufeld also was interviewed by CBS News following the Alabama Supreme Court ruling on frozen embryos and the impacts on Florida reproductive technology treatments. 

Highlighted Community Involvement

Ms. Neufeld, a dedicated member of the Nova Southeastern University College of Law Board of Governors, has played a pivotal role in fostering communication and connectivity within the board by initiating and managing their newsletter, “Board Brief.” Her contributions extend beyond the newsletter, as she consistently authors insightful articles and engaging interview discussions featuring current board members and NSU law students. She is a supporter of the March of Dimes and was featured on Channel 10 News showcasing her role as the honored ambassador family as the top family fundraiser for the Broward County March for Babies walk in 2024. Ms. Neufeld is also involved and supports the Jewish Fertility Foundation, an organization providing financial assistance, emotional support, and educational programming to Jewish people with medical infertility.

Drawing from her own personal journey with infertility and working with a gestational surrogate, Ms. Neufeld utilizes her transactional law background and combines it with her compassion and understanding of the surrogacy process. She focuses on helping others start a family using the available third-party reproductive technologies laws. 

Legal services offered include representation on behalf of intended parent(s), surrogates, egg, sperm, and embryo donation agreements, and finalization of parental right proceedings in Florida, California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois. Greenspoon Marder’s Assisted Reproductive Technology practice group also handles step-parent adoptions and second-parent adoptions.

Ms. Neufeld is honored to represent married couples, both heterosexual and same-sex couples and individuals seeking to utilize various third-party reproductive technologies.
