The Surrogacy Space, Ep. 19 - “Interview with Director of Partner Relations at SeedTrust”
On this episode of The Surrogacy Space, we were joined by Abby Helmuth, Director of Public Relations for SEED Trust (www.seedtrustescrow.com).
A surrogacy escrow agency plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of the surrogacy and egg donation process. As we discussed on this episode, SEED Trust offers several benefits as an escrow service for surrogacy and egg donation journeys such as being bonded with various liability insurances (such as general liability, errors/omissions, and cyber security insurance) to protect the escrow accounts, offers a transparent portal to see the funds available in the account, is a third party independent escrow services that is not affiliated with a particular surrogacy agency or law firm, and professionally manages the escrow account. We talked about how these benefits and protections of SEED Trust can protect the parties involved and avoid issues like what happened in Texas in 2024 with a failed escrow company that resulting in funds being improperly spent by a Texas based surrogacy agency account.
As of the date of the podcast, SEED Trust has been in practice for approx. 10 years and has evolved and has been a leading innovator in the surrogacy escrow services space. SEED Trust was founded by Edward Brockshmidt (former managing partner of a CPA firm) and Roland Salloum (attorney). They have developed a simple, easy to use portal for intended parent(s), surrogates, egg, donors, lawyers, etc. to access and have a transparent and protected escrow service.
